🐟 How to Play — Coprime Fish 🐟

    Goal

Collect coprime pairs and win nuggets! A coprime pair is two cards where the numbers share no common divisor except 1.

    Examples of Coprime Pairs

    • 8 and 3: Share no divisors except 1 ✓
    • 9 and 4: Share no divisors except 1 ✓
    • 7 and 10: Share no divisors except 1 ✓
    • 13 and 2: Share no divisors except 1 ✓
    • 1 and 1: 1 is only coprime with itself ✓

    NOT Coprime Pairs

    • 9 and 3: Both divisible by 3 ✗
    • 8 and 4: Both divisible by 2 and 4 ✗
    • 10 and 5: Both divisible by 5 ✗
    • 12 and 6: Both divisible by 2, 3, and 6 ✗

    Game Setup

    • Each player starts with 3 nuggets 🟡
    • Choose a level (1-5) to control difficulty
    • Level 1: Cards A-10 only (A=1)
    • Levels 2-5: Include J=11, Q=12, K=13

    How to Play

    Each round:

    1. All players put 1 nugget in the pot
    2. Each player gets 5 cards. Keep them secret!
    3. Remaining cards become "The Sea" (face down)

    On your turn:

    1. Ask any player for a specific card (e.g., "Do you have a 6?")
    2. If they have it, you get the card and ask again (same or different player)
    3. If they don't have it, they say "Go Fish!"
    4. Draw a card from The Sea (if not empty)
    5. If you can make a coprime pair with a card you just received, play it!
    6. After The Sea is empty, you can play any coprime pair

    Winning

    • Round ends when no more coprime pairs can be made
    • Player(s) with the most coprime pairs split the nugget pot
    • Game continues until one player has all the nuggets!

    Strategy Tips

    • Remember which cards players ask for!
    • Prime numbers (2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13) pair with many cards
    • 1 (Ace) only pairs with itself
    • 13 (King) is prime and pairs with everything except 13

    🐟 Coprime Fish — Complete Guide 🐟

    What is a Coprime Pair?

A coprime pair is two cards where the numbers share no common divisor except 1. They are "relatively prime" to each other.

    Examples:

    • 8 and 3: 8 = 2×2×2, 3 = 3 (no common factors) ✓
    • 9 and 4: 9 = 3×3, 4 = 2×2 (no common factors) ✓
    • 7 and 10: 7 = 7, 10 = 2×5 (no common factors) ✓
    • 1 and 1: 1 is special - only coprime with itself ✓

    NOT Coprime Pairs:

    • 9 and 3: Both divisible by 3 ✗
    • 8 and 4: Both divisible by 2 ✗
    • 10 and 5: Both divisible by 5 ✗
    • 12 and 6: Both divisible by 2 and 3 ✗

    Game Rules

    Setup:

    • Each player starts with 3 nuggets 🟡
    • Choose difficulty level 1-5
    • Level 1 uses cards A-10 (A=1 is only coprime with itself)
    • Levels 2-5 add face cards: J=11, Q=12, K=13
    • Note: K=13 is prime and coprime with everything except itself!

    Each Round:

    1. Everyone puts 1 nugget into the pot
    2. Deal 5 cards to each player
    3. Place remaining cards face-down as "The Sea"
    4. Random player starts, then play goes clockwise

    Your Turn:

    1. Ask any player for a specific card value
    2. If they have it, take it and ask again (you can keep asking!)
    3. If they don't have it, they say "Go Fish!"
    4. Draw one card from The Sea (if available)
    5. Before The Sea is empty: Play a coprime pair only if it includes a card you just got
    6. After The Sea is empty: Play any coprime pair you can make
    7. Turn passes to next player

    Winning

    • Round ends when no more coprime pairs can be made
    • Player(s) with most coprime pairs split the nugget pot
    • Players with 0 nuggets are out
    • Game continues until one player has ALL nuggets!

    Strategy Tips

    • Prime numbers are powerful: 2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13 pair with many cards
    • Watch for 1 (Ace): Only pairs with itself!
    • K=13 is special: Prime and pairs with everything except K
    • Remember requests: Listen to what others ask for
    • Even numbers: Hard to pair with each other (share factor 2)
